New Jersey Casinos At A Glance

Of the currently operating 10 retail casinos, only Borgata (2003) and Ocean Casino Resort (2012) were built after the year 2000. All the others have operated for decades and stood the test of time through the evolution of Atlantic City’s casino industry.

Caesars Entertainment operates four casinos in the state, which include Caesars, Harrah’s Resort, Bally’s, and Wild Wild West. Wild Wild West shares a property with Bally’s but is considered a separate casino.

MGM Resorts owns and operates Borgata, the largest casino in the state. Eldorado Resorts, another giant in the US casino industry, operates Tropicana Atlantic City. Caesars Entertainment’s merger with Eldorado put it in charge of operations for half of Atlantic City’s casinos.

New Jersey law requires all retail casinos to be physically located within Atlantic City limits.
